This event is not a race; it is a personal challenge. Prizes will be awarded to the oldest team, youngest team (combined age), team traveling the farthest distance and best costumes. This event will take from two to four hours, depending on your skill level. Canoes and bicycles are not supplied. Participants must have their own PFD and bicycle helmet. Qualified personnel will be on hand to inspect canoes and safty gear prior to launching. Their's is the final say as to whether or not your watercraft is allowed on the water.
Fur traders, including David Thompson, traveled this route over two hundred years ago. Costumed interpreters will guide you on your journey and a voyageur meal awaits you at the finish line. There will be water stations so please bring your refillable containers.
Note: This stretch of the river is flat paddling, although it will be swift following the spring melt.
